The future looks bright as far job opportunities are concerned for occupational therapists (OTs). More and more job openings are reported every day and the Internet is full of job offers for OTs. Compared to the average for all occupations, occupational therapist employment is growing much faster and it’s expected to increase 23 percent between 2006 and 2016. The main reason for this expectation is in the fact that the number of elderly population in America is increasing all the time, which drives an increase in the demand for occupational therapists. People in the age of 75 and older is a group that suffers from high incidences of disabling conditions, while the baby-boom generation’s movement into middle age is another cause for the increased number of incidence of heart attacks and strokes.
